As an entrepreneur we are told that the best way to grow our business is to post online, multiple times a day to every platform known to man. To a point, that information is sound.
Posting online takes time and unless you have a big budget, you may be less than thrilled with the results your advertising takes. No matter the size of your business, we all must post. I am not disagreeing with that.
Yet I am suggesting a better use of your resources which is…
FOCUS ON ONE TASK THAT WILL BRING IN CLIENTS AND COMMIT TO THAT TASK EXCLUSIVELY, UNTIL YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR DESIRED OUTCOME.
One of the most important pieces of advice I received is – keep it simple and only work on the tasks that will bring clients through the doors of your business.
You may be thinking, sounds great Julie, but how do I do that? You are probably stretched thin and may have no bandwidth to add more to dos to your already full plate.
You need to identify one task that will bring clients towards you and put all your energy into it. Repeat that task until you have accomplished your goals.
Ask yourself: What single action can I take that will bring me the results I want?
You need more “at bats” as I say, which is a baseball reference. The more “at bats” you have, meaning the more people you can have conversations with, the higher the percentage rate that you will turn one of those conversations into a sale.
For example, let’s say you have a new class that you want to fill.
Run the numbers on how many people you can accommodate in the class and how much revenue you want to bring in. From there work out the one action you can take that would resonate with those potential clients to have them sign up & sell out the class.
You then must commit to executing that task every day until you reach your goal.
This sounds simple, yet it not always easy to do when you have so many bright shiny objects (gurus) that promise oodles of cash and clients if you would spend money with them and do things their way.
The most important part of this process is you not only finding that one task but COMMITING TO IT. Your commitment is what will drive this forward.
Don’t forget to check in with your heart. Every time I try something new in business, I take a moment and check in to see how my heart feels and does it agree this is the correct step to take. It may sound funny, yet every new move or decision should feel good in your heart space. If it doesn’t, take a step back and think about it until you get the green light.
Let’s look at 2 areas that can directly impact your business and the results you are seeking.
1 A POSITIVE MINDSET
You may or may not know that your mindset is a crucial part of your business. Whether you are a heart-centered entrepreneur or looking to move to your next level, how you think about the success of your business is key.
At face value, if you believe you are going to be successful, you will be.
What you may not know is that how you think, meaning how either positive or negative your mindset is, those thoughts go out into the universe as vibrations. These vibrations are returned to you and that is what clients feel when they engage with you which gives them a feeling about your business.
Having positive thoughts about what your business does is crucial to you moving your forward as the right thoughts (vibrations) will attract the right clients.
Of course, it may take some time and work, yet your company will flourish because you believe in your heart that this will work, and it will.
By contrast, when you have a negative mindset, that is what the world will feel when they engage with you and your business. This will repel potential clients faster than you know so make sure you are staying positive.
2 MEET YOUR CUSTOMERS WHERE THEY ARE
As an entrepreneur, it’s our job to help our clients with the solutions they need. It’s in our nature to not only provide to them the solution they need now, but also what they will need in the future.
Many times, we can get caught up in a brand-new product or service that we think will be just perfect for our clients and their businesses. We have gone down the road and left the customer at the front door while we are already at the destination.
One of the greatest gifts we can offer to our clients is our ability to understand them. When you can say to the client, “I understand because I have been where you are, and I am committed to helping you move through the obstacles with ease.”
It’s a very powerful stance to have and clients will be drawn to you because you are showing not only your understanding of them, but also empathy meaning you are meeting them where they are right now.
Taking stock of your goals and moving forward with that which works for you and your business will bring you to your next level.
